Messe Friedrichshafen, operated by Messe Friedrichshafen GmbH, is at Neue Messe 1, 88046 Friedrichshafen, on Lake Constance. It has twelve halls: the Zeppelin CAT Hall A1, halls A2 to A7 and halls B1 to B5. The venue publishes a per-hall table rather than a single headline exhibition area, so no total is quoted here.
Halls
Clear heights run to 17.7 metres in most A and B halls, 24 metres in A3 and 25 metres in the Zeppelin CAT Hall A1. Halls A6 and B4 are the exceptions at 9.15 metres, and they are also the only halls that are not pillar-free. For tall builds or unobstructed overhead runs, those two are the ones to avoid.
Floor loading is 50 kN per square metre distributed with a 100 kN point load over 0.30 by 0.30 metres, ample for machinery and truss bases. Floors are asphalt. Sliding gates reach 22 by 7.5 metres in A3 and A4, and all halls take forklift and truck access up to 60 tonnes. Open-air ground is listed separately from the halls.
Suspension and stand height
Ceiling grid suspension points are available in every hall, rated up to 500 kg. Three conditions apply: suspension must be ordered through the venue's Online Service Center on the Suspension Points form; the work may only be carried out by the venue's appointed contractors, not your own crew; and approval requires the stand construction drawing to be submitted first, with the work following DGUV V 17/18.
Standard construction height is 3.50 metres. Single-storey stands up to that height need no drawing approval; anything higher, including a suspended light box, needs drawings submitted for case-by-case approval and the exhibitor or constructor is invoiced for the procedure. Exceeding standard height at a boundary shared with a neighbouring stand is prohibited on row, corner and head stands.
The venue's published technical guidelines carry a 2019 revision date, so confirm current rules and Online Service Center deadlines with Messe Friedrichshafen before committing a rigging design.
