About EuroShop 2026

EuroShop has anchored the global retail-technology calendar since 1966 and remains the worlds defining trade fair for the entire retail ecosystem - shop fitting, store design, lighting, refrigeration, payment systems, security, in-store marketing, and increasingly omnichannel and retail-IT systems.

Industry context

EuroShop is organised triennially by Messe Dusseldorf in partnership with the EHI Retail Institute. The 2017 edition drew 2,369 exhibitors and 113,906 visitors across 127,592 m of exhibition space; the 2020 edition was the last pre-pandemic edition; 2023 returned to roughly 2,000 exhibitors. The 2026 edition is expected to expand back toward 2,300 exhibitors and 94,000 trade visitors across the seven days.

Exhibitor profile

Approximately 40 percent of exhibitors come from Germany, with strong contingents from Italy, China, Turkey, Spain, France and the US. Sectors are grouped into seven "Experience" zones: Shop Fitting and Store Design, Retail Technology, Lighting, Visual Merchandising, Refrigeration and Energy Management, Food Service Equipment, and Retail Marketing. Stands trend high-design - this is one of the few B2B trade fairs where the stand itself is effectively a portfolio piece.

Visitor demographics

Two-thirds of visitors are senior retail decision-makers - buying directors, store-format heads, expansion managers, visual-merchandising leads. Roughly 60 percent of visitors come from outside Germany. The visitor mix tilts heavily toward fashion, food, drugstore, DIY, electronics and department-store retail.

What makes the stand build different here

EuroShop attracts the most ambitious stand designs of any European trade fair. Double-deck and triple-deck builds are standard, with budgets often exceeding 500 euro per m. Hall 11 at Messe Dusseldorf (14.5 m ceiling height) is the preferred venue for the most architecturally-ambitious exhibits. Lighting demonstrations are central - exhibitors routinely install full retail-lighting rigs to showcase product to prospective specifiers.
