About TEFAF Maastricht 2026

TEFAF Maastricht 2026 is a trade fair in Maastricht, Netherlands.

TEFAF Maastricht is widely regarded as the world's leading fair for fine art, antiques and design, held each March at MECC Maastricht. The 2026 edition runs 14-19 March 2026, with preview days on 12-13 March. Organised by TEFAF, it brings together around 270 of the world's foremost galleries from some 24 countries, presenting Old Masters, antiquities, jewellery, modern and contemporary art and 20th-century design, all subject to TEFAF's renowned independent vetting for quality and authenticity.

TEFAF sets a standard of stand-building that is arguably the most demanding in the exhibition world. The fair is famous for transforming the MECC into an opulent, flower-filled environment where each gallery's stand is a bespoke, gallery-grade interior. Builds involve fine finishes, custom joinery, museum-quality lighting, secure display for extremely high-value objects, and careful climate and handling considerations. Nothing about a TEFAF stand reads as a trade booth; the craftsmanship must match the works on show.

Because TEFAF's identity rests on its atmosphere and finish, the overall fair architecture and each stand within it are planned to an exacting brief, and placement within the layout carries prestige. The requirements around security, lighting, art handling and finish are highly specialised, and MECC's build schedule accommodates an unusually elaborate install.
